John understands the American Dream because he has lived his own version. In the 1990s, John left his childhood home in Ecuador and set a course for New York City in search of his “fortune.” He soon experienced success selling credit card processing to under-served Hispanic merchants, earning their trust by being the first to offer them service and support their own language. During the years he spent running a profitable ISO, John learned the value of focusing on the needs of the merchant when making business decisions.
“When I was a salesman starting out, I learned everything I needed to know by listening to my customers. Today, listening is still the most important thing. At SignaPay, our partners and customers have a voice that we, as a company, answer to.”
John used his payment industry experience to co-found Cynergy Data, a company that took an innovative approach to customer service and agent and merchant relationships. The company was named to Inc. magazine's list of "fastest-growing privately-held companies in America" for three consecutive years. As the company grew, John began to miss the satisfaction of “hands-on” leadership and of fostering a company beginning with just an idea. So, in 2006, John decided to start again and founded SignaPay.
“SignaPay is boutique service firm. We are selective in recruiting partners, flexible in building relationships and collaborative in developing solutions. Our elite team possesses the knowledge and skill to help our partners and customers alike realize their goals. That’s what makes us a different payments provider.”
Despite John’s triumphs in the U.S., he has never forgotten growing up in poverty in South America or his early years selling credit card processing. Today, SignaPay includes SenorPay, a division entirely devoted to the Hispanic market. John also donates a significant amount of time and money to charity, notably Can-Do.org, a grass roots organization that brings hands-on help to people and places in trouble. In 2010, John traveled to Haiti with Can-Do to help victims of the earthquake, specifically orphans, rebuild their home. A life changing experience, John looks forward to conveying this spirit of service and productivity at home.
